May was a cause for turnedupness on a totally unprepared for level. So, let's start at the beginning shall we?
So there's this woman named Safiyatou right? She's from Baltimore. I'd seen her around, but met her and interviewed her on my show a lil while back because she had this project called #BaltimoreGirls. I ended up participating in the project in Early May at The Living Well. My participating consistent of dancing, rocking a catsuit and white wig, strutting my stuff, and performing a monologue about heartbreak.
The following week, I hosted Ms. Prity's Fashion Spa House. I was joined by That Glamour Girl for the evening. The women and I had a grand ole time.
I went to the Mayweather fight party at Sabian's Hall. The fight sucked.
The ladies from The Divas' DISH and I joined E. Wonder for the Community Mediation Maryland Annual Gala. Later that event we hosted what was supposed to be a Tony Rock After Party but it just ended up being an I Came For The Divas soiree'. Who was mad? Nobody who was there! LOL
The next day, I celebrated Mother's Day with my children. Later that week The Divas DISH hosted The 10 Rules of P*ssy Management event. We discussed how and why women should manage their vaginas. It was a hoot. The next day, I hosted the first 2014 Perspectives Women's Rap Session. We talked about our childbirth experiences and our relationships and connections with other women friends. Sunday, I followed up with hosting the Beadly Speaking Fashion show. It was EVERY SINGLE THING!!!! I heard there are plans to make it an annual event. Some of the Divas and their daughters participated and walked the runway.
I met with a gentleman to talk about producing tshirts for the E.Volve line. Everything seems legit and ready to go for that. I had an "angel reading" and was reminded to center my self.
I saw two of my Diva nieces off to their junior and senior proms and celebrated Memorial Day with the Divas at Nzuri Salon and Spa courtesy of owner Terrence Joseph.
I had a planning meeting about throwing a natural hair care rap session and ended the month with a hip hop show featuring Dirt Platoon and starring Sean Price. I even became a fan of Knotsworth Wells at the event. I closed the month out supporting Sean A. Stinnett in his run for a political office.
These are just some of the highlights for May. Overall it was a both busy and productive month. Check out the pictures and visit my instagram IG:msellengee for more picture and video proof.
I'm Ellen Gee. When I'm honest, we learn things. When I'm not, we learn things too.
