Or when you say that you're the type of woman who doesn't get along with other women, I don't know what to think about you. Not that it should matter to you (or anyone else for that matter), but women who don't like women are an odd breed to me. Women who think lowly of women are strange to me. They take experiences with a few and lump all of us together in their scalding hot cauldron and assume that the worst will happen with future encounters.
I've had some negative experiences with women. I've CREATED some negative experiences with women. But the one thing I know is that ALL women are not evil. All women are not treacherous. All women are not responsible for what's wrong with the world. When women are hurting, they change the world. Sometimes their methods are loving. Sometimes they are not.
And because I believe that we both create and sustain our beliefs, I can see why we experience life the way we do.
I had the pleasure of taking part in a Sister Circle created and facilitated by DeBora Ricks and Lisa Punter. I've been working hard on self the last 10 years so there were a lot of reinforcements to lessons I've already experienced. The new lessons I learned helped me to navigate through current challenges in my life. But the biggest blessing from the experience was bonding with women in a meaningful and purposeful way. We loved each other ON PURPOSE. We came together ON PURPOSE. We worked on self together ON PURPOSE. We showed up ON PURPOSE and WITH PURPOSE to create meaningful experiences for ourselves and each other. That's what love is to me. That is what sisterhood is to me.
I've created bonds with women who were determined to break some of the chains that held them back. I am forever grateful for the experience and for the opportunity to show women that I love them for who they are.
I'm Ellen Gee. When I'm honest, we learn things. When I'm not, we learn things too.
